The terms that guide estimates, bookings, payments, and home care with Dust & Found.

DUST & FOUND TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective Date: August 27, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Dust & Found website, online booking platform, customer portal, and residential cleaning services.

In these Terms, "Dust & Found," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Dust & Found. "Customer," "you," and "your" refer to the person requesting, booking, paying for, or receiving services.

By requesting an estimate, booking a service, creating an account, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our Services

Dust & Found provides residential cleaning services that may include:

  • Standard Cleaning
  • Initial Cleaning
  • Deep Cleaning
  • Move-In Cleaning
  • Move-Out Cleaning
  • Recurring Cleaning
  • Optional cleaning add-ons
  • Other services we may offer from time to time

The exact scope of your service is determined by the service selected at booking, any approved add-ons, the service description in effect when you booked, and any written changes agreed to by Dust & Found and the customer.

Service inclusions vary by service type.

2. Estimates and Pricing

Online estimates are based on the information you provide, including information such as:

  • Property address
  • Square footage
  • Number of bathrooms
  • Number of bedrooms
  • Service type
  • Cleaning frequency
  • Property condition
  • Pets
  • Requested add-ons
  • Other relevant property information

You agree to provide complete and reasonably accurate information.

An online estimate does not cover conditions that materially differ from the information submitted.

Examples may include:

  • Significantly inaccurate square footage
  • Undisclosed heavy buildup
  • Excessive pet hair
  • Excessive clutter
  • Hoarding conditions
  • Large amounts of trash or debris
  • Significant grease or mineral buildup
  • Construction debris
  • Unsafe conditions
  • Areas requiring specialty cleaning
  • Services not included in the selected package

If we discover a material difference before or during service, we may pause the work and contact you.

We will not materially increase your agreed price without informing you and obtaining your approval.

If you do not approve a required price or scope adjustment, we may limit the cleaning to the originally agreed scope or discontinue the service where reasonably necessary.

3. Estimate Expiration

Unless otherwise stated, online estimates are valid for 14 days from the date they are issued.

After expiration, pricing may be recalculated using our then-current rates.

4. Minimum Charges

Certain services are subject to minimum booking charges.

Minimum charges may apply regardless of the actual amount of time required to complete the service.

Current minimum charges are displayed during the booking process.

5. Initial Cleaning for Recurring Customers

New recurring customers may be required to complete an Initial Cleaning before beginning recurring Standard Cleaning service.

The Initial Cleaning allows us to establish a reasonable maintenance baseline for future recurring visits.

If the condition of the home requires substantially more work than an Initial Cleaning reasonably provides, we may recommend a Deep Cleaning instead.

Any change that materially affects price requires customer approval.

6. Recurring Cleaning

Recurring cleaning may be offered on schedules including:

  • Weekly
  • Every two weeks
  • Every four weeks

Your recurring rate is based in part on the selected frequency.

If you skip, pause, or substantially delay a recurring cleaning, your next visit may require additional work and may be priced according to a less-frequent service level or other applicable rate.

If skipping a service will affect the price of your next appointment, we will disclose that change before you confirm the skip whenever reasonably practicable.

Recurring services continue until canceled or paused in accordance with these Terms.

7. Price Changes

We may change our pricing from time to time.

Unless otherwise communicated, updated pricing applies to new bookings and new customers.

For existing recurring customers, we may periodically adjust rates by providing reasonable advance notice.

A change to our general pricing does not retroactively change the price of a completed service.

8. Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Stripe or another payment processor we may designate in the future.

Dust & Found does not store complete raw credit-card numbers on its own systems.

Depending on the service, we may:

  • Collect a deposit
  • Preauthorize your card
  • Charge the full amount in advance
  • Charge your card after completion
  • Keep an authorized payment method on file for recurring services

By booking a service, you authorize Dust & Found and Stripe to process the applicable amounts associated with your booking in accordance with the pricing and policies presented to you.

9. Recurring Payment Authorization

If you enroll in recurring service and provide a payment method for automatic payment, you authorize us to charge that payment method for:

  • Scheduled cleaning services
  • Approved add-ons
  • Applicable taxes
  • Valid cancellation or lockout fees
  • Customer-authorized adjustments
  • Other charges expressly agreed to by you

You may update your payment method through your customer account or by contacting us.

Canceling recurring service does not eliminate amounts already owed for services performed or fees properly incurred before cancellation.

10. Deposits

Some services may require a deposit.

Unless otherwise stated during booking, deposits are applied toward the total cost of your service.

Deposits may be applied toward cancellation charges where applicable.

11. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We reserve appointment capacity and employee time specifically for each customer.

The following cancellation policy applies unless a different policy is expressly disclosed at booking:

More Than 48 Hours Before Your Appointment

No cancellation fee.

You may cancel or reschedule without charge.

Between 24 and 48 Hours Before Your Appointment

A cancellation fee equal to 50% of the scheduled service price will be charged.

Less Than 24 Hours Before Your Appointment

A cancellation fee equal to 100% of the scheduled service price will be charged.

Same-Day Cancellation or Lockout

A fee equal to 100% of the scheduled service price may be charged.

Cancellation timing is determined based on the scheduled appointment or arrival-window start time.

We may waive or reduce cancellation fees at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.

12. Lockouts and Inability to Access the Property

You are responsible for ensuring that our team can safely access the property at the scheduled time.

Access may be provided through:

  • Customer presence
  • Door code
  • Smart lock
  • Lockbox
  • Key
  • Doorman or property staff
  • Other approved arrangements

If our team cannot gain access within a reasonable period after arrival, the appointment may be considered a same-day cancellation or lockout and may be subject to a fee of up to 100% of the scheduled service price.

13. Keys, Codes, and Access Information

If you provide keys, access codes, alarm instructions, or other property-access information, you authorize us to use that information as reasonably necessary to provide your services.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate access and alarm instructions.

We take reasonable measures to protect property-access information in our possession.

We encourage customers to use temporary or service-specific access codes when possible.

Do not provide unnecessary passwords, banking information, or other unrelated sensitive information in cleaning or access notes.

14. Arrival Windows

Appointments may be scheduled using exact start times or arrival windows.

Arrival times may be affected by:

  • Traffic
  • Weather
  • Earlier appointments
  • Employee availability
  • Unexpected service conditions
  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control

An arrival window does not guarantee that service will begin at the first minute of the window.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays.

15. Property Preparation

You are not required to fully organize your home before we arrive.

However, excessive clutter may limit our ability to clean surfaces efficiently.

For the best results, we recommend that customers pick up items such as:

  • Clothing
  • Toys
  • Papers
  • Excess dishes
  • Personal belongings
  • Fragile items

Our standard cleaning services do not include organizing or decluttering unless specifically booked.

16. Moving Furniture and Objects

Our employees may move lightweight objects when reasonably necessary to clean accessible areas.

For safety and damage prevention, employees generally will not move:

  • Heavy furniture
  • Large appliances
  • Large electronics
  • Fragile or high-value items
  • Items exceeding our approved lifting limits

We may clean around items that cannot safely be moved.

17. Fragile, Valuable, or Irreplaceable Items

Customers are responsible for securing fragile, valuable, sentimental, or irreplaceable items before service.

Examples include:

  • Jewelry
  • Cash
  • Collectibles
  • Artwork
  • Antiques
  • Heirlooms
  • Important documents
  • Sensitive electronics

If an item requires special handling or should not be cleaned, notify us before service.

18. Firearms and Weapons

Any firearm or weapon in the home must be safely secured and inaccessible to our cleaning team.

Our employees are not permitted to move or handle firearms.

We may discontinue service if unsecured weapons create a safety concern.

19. Pets

We welcome homes with pets.

You agree to inform us about pets that may be present during service.

Customers must appropriately secure animals that:

  • Are aggressive
  • Have a history of biting
  • Are highly anxious around unfamiliar people
  • May escape through an open door
  • May interfere with safe cleaning

We are not responsible for pets escaping where the customer failed to reasonably secure the animal or provide appropriate instructions.

20. Children and Other Occupants

Our employees must be able to work safely and efficiently.

Customers are responsible for supervising children and other household occupants.

Dust & Found employees do not provide:

  • Childcare
  • Eldercare
  • Pet supervision
  • Personal caregiving

21. Utilities

The property must have functioning utilities reasonably necessary to perform service, including:

  • Electricity
  • Running water
  • Reasonable lighting
  • Heating or cooling when conditions require it

If essential utilities are unavailable, we may be unable to complete the service.

Applicable cancellation charges may apply where the issue was reasonably within the customer's control.

22. Cleaning Supplies and Equipment

Unless otherwise arranged, Dust & Found provides cleaning supplies and equipment appropriate for the booked service.

If you request that we use customer-provided products or equipment, you assume the risks associated with the performance, condition, or suitability of those products or equipment except where damage results from our negligence.

Customers should notify us in advance about:

  • Sensitive surfaces
  • Specialty flooring
  • Natural stone
  • Antique surfaces
  • Specialty finishes
  • Manufacturer-specific cleaning requirements

23. Pre-Existing Damage and Surface Conditions

Cleaning can reveal previously hidden damage or deterioration.

Dust & Found is not responsible for pre-existing conditions such as:

  • Loose fixtures
  • Deteriorated grout
  • Worn finishes
  • Peeling paint
  • Damaged blinds
  • Loose cabinet hardware
  • Cracked surfaces
  • Improperly installed fixtures
  • Unstable furniture
  • Existing stains
  • Damaged flooring
  • Deteriorated caulk
  • Corrosion
  • Water damage

Please inform us of known fragile or damaged areas before service.

24. Damage or Breakage

We take reasonable care while working in your home.

If you believe Dust & Found caused damage to an item or surface, you must notify us within 48 hours after completion of the cleaning service.

Please provide when reasonably available:

  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs
  • Approximate age of the item
  • Approximate value
  • Receipts or other relevant documentation

We reserve the right to inspect or evaluate claimed damage.

If we determine that we are responsible, we may provide an appropriate remedy such as:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Reasonable reimbursement
  • Another mutually appropriate resolution

Reimbursement may take into account age, condition, depreciation, and reasonable replacement value.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where applicable law prohibits such a limitation.

25. Satisfaction Guarantee and Re-Cleans

We want you to be satisfied with your cleaning.

If an area included in your booked service was missed or was not cleaned to our standard, you must notify us within 24 hours after completion of the cleaning service.

When appropriate, we will return to re-clean the affected area at no additional charge.

Our satisfaction policy applies only to the scope originally booked and does not include:

  • New messes created after service
  • Services not purchased
  • Permanent stains
  • Existing damage
  • Restoration-level conditions
  • Areas that could not safely be accessed
  • Customer-requested exclusions

Where a reasonable re-clean can resolve a service-quality concern, our normal remedy is a re-clean rather than a monetary refund.

26. Service Limitations

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, our residential cleaning services do not include:

  • Mold remediation
  • Biohazard cleanup
  • Hoarding cleanup
  • Human bodily-fluid cleanup
  • Significant animal-waste cleanup
  • Pest infestation cleanup
  • Crime-scene cleaning
  • Hazardous-material cleanup
  • Construction debris removal
  • Junk hauling
  • Heavy furniture moving
  • Exterior pressure washing
  • Carpet extraction
  • Upholstery extraction
  • Specialty restoration
  • High-access work requiring specialty equipment

We may decline or discontinue work reasonably believed to be unsafe or outside our service scope.

27. Unsafe Conditions

Employees have the right to refuse to enter or leave a property when they reasonably believe conditions are unsafe.

Examples may include:

  • Aggressive animals
  • Threatening occupants
  • Unsecured weapons
  • Illegal activity
  • Hazardous chemicals
  • Biohazards

  • Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Threats

  • Conduct quality control
  • Address a complaint
  • Document a service issue

Operational photographs will not be used publicly for advertising in a way that meaningfully identifies the customer's home or personal property without appropriate permission.

30. Tips

Tips are optional.

Customers may have the opportunity to tip during or after service.

Tips will be distributed in accordance with Dust & Found's employee tipping practices.

31. Promotions and Coupons

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
